Wallenius Water has been on the forefront of developing new and environmentally friendly methods for cleaning water. This has lead to their patented technology "Wallenius AOT" which combines the UV light with an Advanced Oxidation Technology in the form of a TiO2 layer to generate free radicals.

Wallenius AOT builds on a combination of photochemical and photocatalytic principles for removal of pollutants in the water. Free radicals are produced in the process and they destroy the cell membrane of the microorganisms and the cell breaks down. The cell can not be re-activated.
