CLEANING OF DRINKING WATER

Our taps at home provide hot and cold water as they do at work, in hospitals, hotels and so on. But there are no guarantees that tap water is clean. In water systems where biofilms form, microorganisms such as amoebas, parasites and harmful bacteria such as Legionella thrive and multiply. One way of preventing this is to integrate Wallenius AOT with the system. Wallenius AOT is available for both stationary and mobile installations.

The drinking water tank trucks used by Sweden’s UN forces are an example of how Wallenius AOT can be integrated with mobile installations.

The Swedish Armed Forces sends troops to the world’s trouble spots on behalf of the UN. They understand that one of the toughest problems UN troops face is guaranteeing a supply of clean water. For the Swedish UN troops in Afghanistan (ISAF) and Liberia (UNMIL), one solution is Wallenius AOT. The tank trucks are filled with the purest drinking water available. Each truck has a small system with a circulation pump and a Wallenius AOT unit. With the help of Wallenius AOT, the troops are protected against harmful microorganisms, especially the parasite Cryptosporidium, which causes severe diarrhoea.
