Excelitas' Infrared Emitting Diodes (IRED) are typically used in conjunction with a detector to form a sensing system. IREDs with wavelengths 770 nm, 870 nm 880 nm, 940 nm, and 950 nm are offered for applications like Smoke Detection, Encoders, Transmissive and Reflective Optoswitches.
Pulsed Laser Diodes
Pulsed semiconductor lasers in the near IR (NIR) are commonly used for long distance time-of-flight or phase-shift range finding systems. We offer a broad range of monolithic layered structures with single, or up to 4 multi-active emitting cavities per chip, resulting in up to 300 Watts of peak output power.
The Emitters come in a variety of package with different inductance values to assist customer’s application designs. Chip-on-ceramic assembly is available for hybrid integration. A selection of 6 metal, hermetically sealed packages are available for harsh environment applications. Other available packages include molded epoxy resin TO-18 type package, a surface-mount over molded chip-on-ceramic package, as well as a 5.6mm CD metal hermetic package are available for high-volume applications.
